Culver City has recently gained recognition for its creativity and bustling art scene and it’s also home to the Velvet HQ in PLATFORM, an open-air quarter featuring a carefully curated mix of independent merchants, influential chefs and creative organisations. Amongst all of the delicious eateries you can find at PLATFORM, we have to admit that we always end up gravitating to Loqui and feeding our taco addiction - everything is so fresh and made from scratch each day! If you want to get your spin on, PLATFORM is also home to the largest Soulcycle studio in L.A - the fitness concept that makes fitness joyful and supportive as it transforms the mind and body through community, exercise and great music. If you are looking for a real “neighbourhood” experience, Pali Hotel allows you to live like a local - located on a quiet residential street in Downtown Culver City. A much loved place to stay amongst creative travellers and it is conveniently located within walking distance to tonnes of Culver City gems!
Afternoons in Culver City are best spent exploring the many Galleries the art district has to offer! We recommend checking out Blum & Poe, a two-storied space showcasing a constant rotation of contemporary mixed media works (we are totally obsessed with their Instagram feed too, we urge you to have a scroll @blumandpoe !!). The creativity here is endless, right down to the architecturally-inspired ice-cream sandwiches that are served at The Coolhaus Shop! Our fave is the “Netflix” ice-cream; a white cheddar popcorn-infused ice cream base with Doritos - honestly, it is way more appetising than it sounds!
No need to hire a car or worry about ordering Ubers, this part of L.A can be fully explored by foot! Do you need any more convincing?!
