Spring 18 Trends 101: Get Some

While spring may be a transitional season, that doesn’t mean it’s second banana when it comes to style. Actually, we think it’s the opposite. You’ve packed away bulky winter coats and knits so it’s really the best time to uncover your personal style. Spring 18 is the season for classics, light layers, and those pieces that get us prepped for summer. To break down some of our favourite ways to update your closet, here are three of our top Spring 18 trends.

Say It With Flowers
This trend is a perennial favourite (pun intended) and feels so right for the season. Our Spring 18 Florals have a nod to vintage prints from the 20s to the 40s, with tiny buds and bouquets sprinkled across dresses, blouses and skirts. Keep this look supremely feminine with lightweight fabrics that flow.

If you’re into more of a boho look, the right-now way to pick a floral is with embroidery. We can never get enough of the laid-back appeal of a Peasant Top and adding a hint of floral stitchwork makes this enduring style feel fresh.

The Right Stripe
This season, stripes are bolder than ever. Again, we like to keep it classic but give it an updated edge. You cannot go wrong with a classic Breton stripe. Originally seen on such fashion icons (and Velvet muses) as Brigette Bardot and Jean Seberg, our version for spring stays true to the original, but gives the look a 21st century feel with slightly oversized silhouettes and distressing at the edges.

If you need a stripe that’s a little dressier, pick a slimmer, vertical version that’s reminiscent of a classic “ticking” look. For spring, our version of this print gets a colour update with a gelato-sampling of colours from pistachio to pink. Crafted from a shirting fabric, which is the perfect weight for dresses and tops.

The New Laid Back
This is the season to put the fun back in function. Not just about gym-life, these separates are about life-life, leaving the house with ease but still in style. Our bottoms have been given a flattering update with cropped joggers, a longer look for shorts and a timeless A-line skirt, all crafted in a luxe French terry. You will love the Fiji Skirt.

For Athleisure that can even make an appearance at the office, look for classically feminine details like puffed sleeves with a cinched cuff, or a Cropped Cardigan.
